Class 1

Welcome to Class 1. We are a mixed class of reception and Year 1 children. Mrs Chambers is our teacher and Miss Amos is our Teaching Assistant.

Class 1 follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. It is a broad and balanced curriculum that supports and encourages the children to be independent, confident and resourceful learners.

We focus on the children's interests and provide both child and adult initiated activities that encourage children to be successful and exploratory learners.

Class 1 Gallery

Blocks can be used to build anything! We explored ‘taking away’ by driving cars in and out of the garage.

We used natural resources to create structures and homes for creatures.

Our hospital role play gave us lots of opportunities to explore heart beats, lungs and potential broken bones!

We use our cubes to build towers, make repeating patterns and explore doubling and halving.

Our friends in preschool often join us to share ideas and activities. As part of our healthy eating week we made our own yummy milkshakes.

We loved the water beads that Mrs Chambers found. We were intrigued where the clear ones disappeared to in the water!
