Event - A Visit from Paralympic Gold Medallist

21 November 2016

On Monday 21st November we were lucky enough to have local Paralympic gold medal winner, Sascha Kinred, come and vist our school.

He showed us a video of his gold medal race in Rio and told us about how he became a swimmer. He also told us about his disability and explained that through hard work and real determination you can achieve anything.

Sascha told us that each medal makes a different sound when you shake it. This is so that visually impaired athletes can tell which medal they have been given.

We loved listening to his stories about Rio and found his visit really inspriring. His message to us all was clear - "Never say you can't!".
