Event - Sports Day and Summer Fete

5 July 2013

On Friday 5th July we held our annual whole school Sports Day, followed by the Parents' Association Summer Fete. The weather was very kind (although a little hot!) and we all had a lovely day.

We competed in a wide variety of activities in four teams (Red, Yellow, Green and Blue).

Between the sports events in the morning and the Fete in the afternoon, we all stopped for lunch. This was a chance for many families to share a picnic on the field with their children.

The day was rounded off successfully with a 'gunking' for Mr Matcham our Class 4 teacher who is retiring at the end of the term.

Our sporting stars in action!
Some people can skip as fast as others can run.

The sack race for Infants is always popular.
The Juniors have a go at the egg and spoon race.

We even have an obstacle race.
In the end the Red team won – well done!

Time for a picnic together in the sunshine.
Everyone mucked in to support the Fete.

The Fete was very busy all afternoon.
The bouncy inflatables were particularly popular.

Well done for being a good sport Mr Matcham. The 'gunking' was very popular.
