We use the DfE mathematics guidance 2020 to support progression for each of the National Curriculum topics in mathematics. This includes a variety of reasoning activities. The overall aim is to support progression in fluency and reasoning skills. The activities also offer the opportunity for children to demonstrate depth of understanding, and may be used for assessment purposes as well as regular classroom activities.
We use the NCETM exemplification of ready-to-progress criteria in the DfE maths guidance for KS1 and KS2.
